The sacraments are mysterious.

Commonplace elements somehow become powerful means of grace, through no work of ours. Why would God choose such ordinary materials through which to nourish, forgive and empower God’s people?

This video series, filmed in high definition, provides a solid theological introduction to the sacraments. Through warm humor and playful explanation, viewers of all ages will find themselves in the story of God working through the ordinary to accomplish the extraordinary.

We may never understand how God joins God’s word of promise to these visible elements of water, bread and wine. Nor may we understand how God offers, gives and seals the forgiveness of our sin, earned by Christ, through those elements. But we can discover what that means for each of us, and for the world, every day of our lives.
